EsNtion's Year in Review
It has been an interesting year here at EsNtion. Overall, however, we have much to be thankful for. We signed a digital distribution deal with DMGI which later got bought by The Orchard and now our music is clearly protected internationally and exploited properly. It is a very good deal. P-1 saw their music used in the latest David Duchovny film, Trust the Man, and on ABC/Disney's TV show Samantha Who. Danielle Bollinger's latest single, Surrender Me, is the top 5 most requested song on Fusion Radio for 2007 and and her other single, Take it Back, featuring two versions - one with dancehall star Nicco and one with Getto from Chosen Few - has gotten her tour offers in South America and Puerto Rico. So watch for her to have a stunning 2008.
DJ Russ Harris did something he usually doesn't. He took my advice and did a duet with Jiga from Analog Pussy. The song, Unsealed, has blown up on the charts since its official release 2 weeks ago. In some cases moving as much as 30 positions up in one week. This is the third single from Russ' amazing album , Ear Therapy. Buy it, love it, share it with friends. You will look very smart if you do.
TripThrottle came to EsNtion this year and expanded our roster of electronic music like no other. Their single, Future Four, has 2 stunning videos and the bands' live performances have earned them the moniker, "The new face of electro." Which, considering the old faces, is some pretty heady company. They deserve it.
Tricky Bizzniss saw their song, C'Mon C'Mon, voted the number one video at the Cravefest International Video Awards held in Canada. We are still getting emails from fans who saw their show at the awards' ceremony. Although they didn't perform much in 2007 that is going to change. So save your pennies to get your tickets when they come to your town.
Lefty Perez, Frankely and Batista all did shows for Globe Star Entertainment which took them from Long Island to San Francisco and saw them all get repeat offers to return. It also saw them all get their music played internationally and set them up for continued success throughout their careers. DJ Papito Red tore it up with a killer set at Hot Import Nights in Chicago and Grupo Fuego continues to ride the success of their video Muevelo from the album of the same name. It was most recently used by Screenplay, Inc. as part of a Britney Spears' club/video promotion. Batista also did something no other EsNtion artist has ever done. His new single, Dame tu Amor, debuted at #1 on a major market radio station, WACX 91.3 FM in Pennsylvania.
Germany's very own, Robert G. has continued his stunning ascent as both a remixer and producer working with everyone from Wu Tang Clan to, trance phenom, Marcie. The new single, Now We Are Free, from his debut album Dreamland Express has been a massive hit in the clubs. Also from Germany, wildly eccentric pop masters, Fruehbel ft. Ben Summerfeld, caught the US market completely unaware with their chart topping single Leave and then the follow up (cleverly released in the dead of winter) Summerwind. The song is currently on every major dance music chart. So, they must be doing something right.
2007 also saw new artists, Anavi and The Desperate House DJs debut singles from their forthcoming albums. Both Anavi's Mustapha (a remake of the old Queen chestnut) and DHDJ's Back to Brooklyn received solid chart action. In fact, although both have been out for a few months, there are still several charts that have them in their top 20 plays. Watch for these kids to do BIG things next year.
Yes, we are still dealing with the lawsuit, but we are not going to let that dampen our festive mood. If you want to catch up on the entire year's happenings, feel free to CLICK HERE to read it all.
From all of us to all of you, Happy Holidays!
