psst. don't tell anyone. we're still here.
We took a little time out of the spot light to concentrate on some much needed work. And now that it is almost done, we are back. The next couple of weeks will see some major announcements from us regarding new artist signings and much more. But, for now, I thought I'd take a minute to catch you up on what has been going on.
Lefty Perez, Frankely and Batista have ben invited back to perform at Carnaval in San Francisco next weekend. They will be on the main stage sponsored by our friends at La Kalle. They will be debuting new music from their upcoming albums on EsNtion as well as playing their hits. Furthermore, since I took the worst pictures any adult can take last year, this year will be chaperoned by Marcelino Ramos and he will wield the camera. You can expect "thumb free" images when he gets back.
Also next week, I will be down in San Juan Puerto Rico for the filming of DJ Russ Harris' next video, Standing in the Rain,, featuring Adam Barta. The video is being directed by, world famous cinematographer, Johanna Miller Verdejo with choregoraphy by the true Lord of Dance, Anthony Rodriguez. It will also feature, Manhattan model, Brianne Perotto as the evil girlfriend. It should be a summer stunner. Some promotional photos taken by, internationally renowned photographer, Frank Capri are already on line at our web site and he will be posting a You Tube video of the shoot very soon. It was one of the most fun photo shoots I have ever attended.
While all of this is going on, our very own Shannon Hite (as opposed to your Shannon Hite, I guess) will be at EDM Fest in Detroit. She will be handing out SWAG, hanging with some heavies and just promoting the heck out of EsNtion. If you see her, say hi.
Also, EsNtion has signed an agreement with S&R Entertainment to handle all of our summer booking. So, if you see an EsNtion artist who you wish to book, let us know and we will happily hook you up with the proper representative.
Lastly, for those who have asked, yes the copyright lawsuit we filed is still ongoing. No it is not close to settling. And, yes, we are going to pursue it to the end. Now, check out what is happening with some of our releases.
OUT NOW!
Trip Throttle - Wild Kingdom
An exciting electro act that features band members from Ireland and upstate New York. They have been favorably compared to early Crystal Method. Their debut video, Future Four, peaked at #5 on the BPM-TV charts in Canada and the song is still charting on club charts throughout the US. Their second single, DROPZONE, will be hitting clubs in just a few weeks.
DJ Russ Harris - Ear Therapy
Currently ranked in the Top 20 of American DJs by DJ Times (May 2008), Russ began his career as a mobile DJ spinning pop tunes for weddings and parties. That experience has helped him to craft some serious crowd pleasers. "Drums in the Club" (ft: BamBam Buddha and DJ Keri)went to #5 on the Billboard dance charts and #2 on the BPM-TV (Canada) charts. Guest appearances on the album from, MTV darling, Adam Barta and, pop diva, Danielle Bollinger don't hurt either.
Danielle Bollinger - Take it Back (single)
Her debut album on EsNtion, When the Broken Hearted Love Again, had 3 Billboard topping singles and two of them - Kiss the Sky and You'll Always Have Me - crossed over to pop radio. Her new single from her sophomore album, Take it Back, went to #2 on the BPM-TV (Canada) charts and is still receiving heavy play around the US and in Puerto Rico. Look for a summer tour from EsNtion's favorite diva.
COMING SOON!
Fruehbel - INSANE!! (single)
The duet of Christoph Friebel and Ben Sommerfeld from Germany has been called everything from "wacky pop meisters" to "seriously wrong." All apply. Their debut single, Leave, placed in the top 5 of the Cravefest International Music Video Awards and charted in the US for almost 60 weeks. Their followup single, Summerwind, was released in the dead of winter and is still charting as of this writing. Their new single, INSANE! is coming out now and will finish laying the groundwork for their debut album on EsNtion this fall.
Carla Prather - I AM! (single)
This legendary house music vocalist comes to EsNtion with a ton of experience and a song catalog begging to be heard. Her debut single, "I AM!" brings back the best of Disco with a layer of Chicago soul. Look for a sparkling new video by, camera master, Aaron Shapiro later this summer.
Anavi - Sweet Caress (single)
Her debut single, a raved up version of Queen's MUSTAPHA, caught a lot of people by surprise. Far from the quirky disco that has permeated Queen remakes, this featured, metal legend, Tristan Grigsby on guitar and was produced by House music impresario Jere McAlister (a/k/a Mr. A.L.I.). They have teamed up again to create Anavi's second single, Sweet Caress. Featuring a wide variety of mixes from Phillip Western (Skinny Puppy) to disco god Nick*, this is going to be one of the hottest hits of the summer of 2008. The video is being done by Greg Zilioli of UZED Photography in Chicago. He did the stunning mr egg germ video for us last year and we just couldn't keep him from this project.
Project X -Que Pasa (single)
Led by Netherland's radio and remix sensation, Bernd Loorbach, their debut single on EsNtion, Que Pasa, is a wild, floor filling, blend of Latin guitar and trance. There will be a video from Japanese TV god, Rob Pongi, that should guarantee this song a shelf life in people's heads for years to come.
